Chesterfield Parade starts at 10:30, not 11, as stated in earlier post that I just read. Please share!
News from the Cummington Historical Commission, Kingman Tavern Museum
Our summer season is almost here and we eagerly await your visits. Our guides are fully trained and ready to give you fabulous tours. The museum is open Saturdays from July 11 through August 29, 2-5 pm.
Opening day will be a very special one. Our feature exhibit, “School Days”, will focus on Cummington schools, past to the present. Stephen Howes has been busy preparing old pictures and other interesting memorabilia for you to enjoy. We foresee a full afternoon of storytelling, reminiscing and fun! Think of it as alumni day for past staff, students, parents and all others who have been touched by the schools. Refreshments will be served and other activities are in the making. We hope you will join us for this wonderful event as we honor the past and ponder the next chapter of schooling our beloved children. We encourage you bring anything related to the schools to share. Unfortunately, this invitation will not reach everyone that we hope will come, please help us spread the word by extending the invitation to anyone that you feel might like to attend.
Most Saturdays will have a special event. Look for flyers about town to see the full schedule soon. It will also be announced on “Cummington Historical Commission” and “What’s Up In the Hilltowns” Facebook pages and on the towns web site’s calendar at http://www.cummington-ma.gov.
We look forward to seeing you on the 11th!
